Kuznetskiy Alatau is a range of mountains located in southern Siberia stretching for 300 km. with the highest peak being 2,200 metres. The range is located in the northwestern part of the South Siberian Mountains, which in turn lie northwest of Mongolia.
The mountains have steeper western slopes than the eastern aspects with Siberian fir predominating the forest belt. The higher areas up to the tree line (1,300 – 1,900 meters) have siberian pine and become more dominant higher up (fantastic for epic powder tree skiing). The highlands are coupled with vast large-stoned screes and areas of subalpine meadows (Powder bowls).
We will be using Eurocopter’s with a highly experienced local pilot and European qualified UIAGM Guide, this means 4 guests’ skiers or Boarders per Heli. These are versatile machines and perfect for the terrain. We will aim to fly 5 days with a spare day included in the event of a down day.
The snow is now being discovered by free-riders getting their kicks before the beginning of the normal season, skiing fluffy Champagne crystals. This is a new area and a pioneering spirit is in the air. It is an adventure, a bucket list tick and will form a lifelong memory. We will be skiing upto 1,000 meter descents in the high country and also dive down through the forests, so get your snorkels out!
Well, we have developed the ultimate one! This is mixed by our own powder freerider mixologists for the very early season – Yes, at the end of November!
While most ski resorts in the Northern Hemisphere are praying to the Snow Gods for the first winter storms, Sheregesh is in full flight and has had snow storms since late September.
So how do you fancy one week mixed with the “entrée” being epic tree skiing in the resort of Sheregesh followed by heliskiing as “le dessert” at the latter part of the week?
About 25 years ago the resort of Sheregesh was a remote mining village in Siberia in the Zelenaya mountains. Now it has become a small ski resort with a reputation for having the best early season snow anywhere. Not only that, it has plenty of Apres ski to boot. The snow is unique here as is the terrain; the lightness of the snow is due to unique weather systems, temperature and geography. Sheregesh is still mainly a secret location to the world ski market but Russian freeriders and powder enthusiasts have been coming here for a number of years to get early season turns in and ski the Forests that are so abundant in the area. We need only to use the lifts to access the light fluffy stuff and get into some epic fall lines through the nicely spaced trees within the forests.

FULL HELIWEEK:
We will meet you at the airport and transfer by minibus (1.5 hours) to the Lodge.
MIXWEEK:
The transfer is about 3 hours to the Hotel in Sheregesh by minibus. After our stay in Sheregesh, there’ll be a 2 hour transfer to Kuznetskiy Alatau.
FULL HELIWEEK:
Our base is in a luxury Lodge made up of small cottages made of Siberian cedar. It has comfortable rooms, fine cuisine, a Russian style Sauna and is surrounded by Siberian nature.
MIXWEEK:
In Sheregesh we’ll be staying in Alpen-Club for the first 3 days.
Turen inkluderer fuld forplejning. In the lodge, you’ll be eating gourmet meals every evening. A hearty breakfast and a lunch to go are also included. Alcohol beverages are not included.
A certain degree of basic fitness is assumed and that you will have experience in off-piste terrain from previous trips.
During the booking process one of our agents will discuss your level openly. On arrival we will conduct a security briefing and ensure or refresh knowledge on use of transceivers etc.
Safety is of course always a priority when heli skiing in Western Siberia or any of our destinations. GMGA guides with knowledge of the local area will guide you all the way. They are there to ensure your safety, and in the event of an accident they know what to do and how to get you directly off the mountain to a safe zone or Hospital if required.
Avalanche equipment including air bags will be available if you do not have them. On arrival we will conduct a security briefing and ensure or refresh knowledge on use of the safety equipment.
You will have to ensure that you have the appropriate insurance to be covered Off-Piste and in Russia. You can read more about it here.
There are stable and secure conditions when traveling to Russia.

Ud over ski/snowboard ture, arrangerer vi også sociale ting som sauna, middage og evt. øl om aftenen. Disse er dog bestemt af hvilket slags vejr vi bliver udsat for.

When we have reached our destination, you’ll receive a security briefing. We want to make sure that you have the best prerequisites to not get hurt when riding off-piste.
Apart from skiing and snowboarding, we also arrange social events like going to the sauna, dinners and beers in the evening. These events are however decided by what kind of weather we’re exposed to.
We will assist you all the way. Our travel guide will bring you to one of the Airports and make sure you get safely back on your flight home.
